When you decide that you want to pursue a career in the Insurance Industry, the first step is to contact the Department of Insurance for your state. We have provided links to the specific state you reside in for your convenience.
Before you take your insurance exam, most states require a pre-licensing training course that you must complete. This can be done on-line, in a classroom setting at an approved facility, or even at home with the approved material. All pre-licensing material must be purchased and the cost can vary by state. When you have completed the training material you will then schedule your exam. You must pass the exam with a 70% or higher score. If you do not succeed the first time, you can repeat the exam until you do pass.
